Zayn Malik says he’s overcome his anxiety and is rehearsing to play live

“I think my confidence has grown in the last year and a half.”

Zayn Malik has a full band in place and is preparing to perform live as a solo act. The former One Direction member spoke to BBC Radio 1 about dealing with the anxiety that meant he barely performed live after releasing his first solo album. He said that now his second album is due for release, he’s rehearsing and feels ready to play live.

“I’m excited to see what people think of it,” he told host Nick Grishaw of his new album. “I think my confidence has grown in the last year and a half. It’s a bit different to my last record in terms of, it’s matured.”

Zayn also admitted that he doesn’t feel he approached solo life in the right way first time around. “I didn’t know what was going on for a while,” he explained. “I was just putting out a record and not really being as prominent as I wanted to be. But this time around I feel like I am more confident and I really believe in what’s going on, so I want to convey that to my fans.”

‘Despacito’ hits 5 billion YouTube views – and it has six other records

Luis Fonsi’s and Daddy Yankee’s smash hit music video ‘Despacito’ has reached a remarkable milestone for becoming the world’s First video to reach 5 billion views on YouTube .

Anyone who has heard the song before already knows of its catchy rhythm, but fans have faithfully swarmed to watch the two Latin American artists perform the single amid the streets of their home nation of Puerto Rico.

This new achievement supplements the song’s current ensemble of six Guinness World Records titles, reflecting the incredible success and popularity of the track on a global scale.

“Despacito” was first released in January 2017 and has quickly gained popularity outside of Latin America; at the time of writing it had 5,001,320,421 views.

This means it has also raised the bar for three other current YouTube records: Most viewed music video online, Most viewed video online, and Most viewed music video on YouTube (duet) with each record title being broken three times since the video first achieved them in August 2017.

It also earned the record for the Most weeks at No.1 in the USA (single) in September 2017 after being featured 16 consecutive weeks, and soon after became the Most streamed track worldwide upon being played 4.6 billion times across the globe.

Although most hits tend to lessen in popularity as the weeks go on, Despacito has remained hugely popular.

More than a year after its debut, the Hispanic single broke the title for being the Most weeks at No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart in February 2018 after spending 42 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot.

With their latest accomplishment of amassing 5 billion views, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s newest YouTube record has surpassed other popular artists on the platform such as Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, who’s video for “See You Again” currently stands at 3.4 billion views.

Fonsi mentioned in interviews that he awoke with the song stuck in his head, and did his best to draft the material until he could work on it further.

After completing the final track, Fonsi thought fellow Puerto Rican Daddy Yankee would be a natural accompaniment to the song – which has since become a major contribution to the song’s triumph.

‘Despacito’ has the distinction of being the only track to have earned Latin Grammys for Song of the Year and Record of the year in junction with seven Guinness World Records titles.

At the rate that the current music video is going, we expect the landmark achievement to increase some time in the near future.

The Zquad are just days away from their first taste of Z2.

Zayn Malik pulled a move from his duet collaborator friend Taylor Swift’s playbook after clearing out his entire Instagram feed last night (April 7). In its place, Malik baited eager fans with a snippet extracted from a brand-new music video project dropping “04.12.18,” as captioned by the star under the post.

Watch the exhilarating preview clip, below.

In the 007-esque video above, the blonde-haired “Don’t Matter” star muses pier-side with a briefcase before the clip harbinger words like “power,” “greed,” and “vengeance” flash on the screen. In other scenes, a nightclub brawl ensues after what looks to be a business deal gone awry and a philandering Malik finds himself caught in the turmoil.

This is the first official music project of the year to be endorsed by the 25-year-old singer himself and given a promised release date. While nothing is certain, it’s quite likely this cinematic surprise will appear on Malik’s second LP, which has “been done” for months now.

While Malik has been scarce on the particulars of a formal release date or the title of his sophomore follow-up, hit-making producer Timbaland referenced his involvement with Z2 after dropping a snippet of their collab on Instagram.

Fans of 5 Seconds of Summer are getting new music, and soon: The band announced on Monday (April 9) that their third album, Youngblood, will arrive June 22.
The Australian outfit shared the news via social media along with the record’s cover art. They also revealed the first round of dates for their upcoming Meet You There Tour, which will launch August 27 and hit 25 cities across North America, including Boston, Chicago, and Nashville.

The Youngblood announcement arrives two months after the release of “Want You Back,” the group’s first single in nearly two years. It follows their 2015 LP, Sounds Good Feels Good.

5SOS are currently on the road supporting “Want You Back” in Europe, and will continue stateside later this month before heading back to Australia.

Pre-orders for Youngblood will begin Thursday, April 12, and ticket sales for Meet You There start April 13.

Will Ariana Grande’s First “AG4″ Single Be Called “New York Live”?

images (25).jpeg

An Arianator-led investigation hints that Ariana Grande may have quietly confirmed a new single, presumably from her untitled fourth studio album.

Over the weekend, inquiring fans launched a sleuth of the 24-year-old songbird’s registry on the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) website, where it was discovered that the “Dangerous Woman” star might have secretly registered a new music project, tentatively termed “New York Live-BG CUES.”

Fans who shared the evidence on Twitter also pointed out that the “BG CUES” label means the project could be a made-for-television tune or included on a future soundtrack.

According to ASCAP records, credited as songwriters on the rumored track are Grande herself, musician-producer Pharrell, and Brittany Talia Hazzard (professionally known as Starrah, a rapper, singer, and songwriter who has worked with artists such as Rihanna, Camila Cabello, and Charli XCX).

Grande has not openly endorsed or dismissed her ownership of the track, nor has she provided any nominal aspects of her forthcoming LP or whether “New York Live” makes the cut on AG4.

Despite our misgivings, this new AG4 song argument may hold some credence after all.

Although the former Nickelodeon actress has kept mum on the specifics and the sound of her fourth album, she’s been exceptionally transparent about having sought Max Martin and Pharrell as producers for her “personal” project, which TMZ reported had been finished as of last month.

Adding more truth to the conspiracy, just a few days ago Grande delivered the “Happy” singer a birthday shout-out with a few throwback pics of the two jamming out to AG4 in the studio.

So honestly, anything is possible at this point.

In the meantime, anyway, Hits Daily Double announced on Friday (April 6) that the “Focus” artist is expected to release her first new single from AG4 on April 27.

Meet 16 year-old ‘Nadarang’ Viral Rapper Shanti Dope

maxresdefault (1).jpg

Can you believe Shan Patrick Ramos or better known as ‘Shanti Dope’ is only 16-year old and now enjoys being a viral rapper thanks to his LSS rap single ‘Nadarang’ from the album ‘Materyal’ which is now number 1 on Spotify PH.

He was greatly influenced by famous Filipino rappers such as Smugglaz, Loonie, Ron Henley and Gloc-9 whose wordplay, context, rhymes and narratives he aspires for in his own work. As per his name Shanti Dope, it was greatly influenced by his father , who was a  practitioner of Krishna Conciousness. Shanti is the Sanskrit word for peace  which alongside dope could mean “Peace is my natural drug”. This call for peace, given songs that actually speak of injustice and inequality, that insists on discussing the state of the nation. This is what sets him apart from many rappers his age.
